Kids love things that are even smaller than they are and mice make great book characters. There are lots of great books with mice in them but here are a few of my favorites. Wemberly Worried by Kevin Henekes . Wemberly is a little mouse who does one thing more than most mice, she worries! She worries so much it makes her parents worry. Something is changing in Wemberly's life, she will start school soon and even for mice that don't worry much that is worrisome! I love how this book addresses her anxiety and how the parents in the story are so gentle and supportive. It's a great book! If You Take A Mouse To The Movies by Laura Numeroff is probably not the book you were expecting me to recommend. Her first book of the series , If You Give A Mouse A Cookie is great but there is something perfect about this book when you read it in the winter. The cozy hats, the popcorn it makes me want to stay in and watch movies with my son all day! He loves it too! Mouse Count by Ellen Stoll Walsh is a bright and simple book about 3 little mice who are trying to save themselves from a hungry snake. The genius of this book is that the author has mixed counting into the mix as well! Great book for toddlers learning to count. The Little Mouse, The Ripe Red Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear by Audrey and Ron Wood is an adorable book about a mouse who is trying really really hard to keep his perfect strawberry away from the big hungry bear! As he tries to hide the berry from the bear you will giggle along at his attempts . The book is great for all ages and has been a favorite in our house for years.
