4 Star Strategy Rating

Age group(s) for which this strategy is helpful:
Elementary School
Middle School
High School & Beyond

Instructions for using this strategy:
Xerox book passages and other required reading to enlarge the print. Have your child use a marker to highlight the sight words that he knows. Have your child read from the photocopies.

What is the benefit to the child with reading problems?
The enlarged print will help with tracking and spacing problems. Highlighting known words gives visible evidence of what your child already knows. This will help develop a "I can do it!" attitude.
