About Rita
Rita is a Professor of Psychology specializing in Education, having gained a PhD in Psychology from Purdue University in 1976, and since retired from professorial positions at various universities, including the University of Houston and Louisiana State University. At the latter, Rita also served as Director of Graduate Studies in the School of Education, Interim Director for the Women's and Gender Studies Program, and Associate Dean for the College of Education. In addition, Rita was chair of the American Educational Research Association Special Interest Group on Giftedness and Talent, and has been chair and vice-chair of the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. She has published many scholarly articles and has presented her research both nationally and internationally.
