- The name in its various spellings is frequent in LA, where bearers claim descent from one Louis Robichaux, of Laudun, France, who is found in Acadia, in Canada, in 1642. However, one 1752 mention concerns a native of England, perhaps a <xref>Robertshaw</xref>.
