Painted Place Mat
Mix rubber cement and tempera paint to give your toddler's homemade place mat a unique appearance.

Painted Place Mat
Materials
- Rubber cement
- White construction paper
- Tempera paint
- Paintbrushes
- Clear contact paper
Directions
- Dribble rubber cement randomly or in a design over a sheet of white construction paper.
- Allow to dry for about 30 minutes, then paint over the rubber cement using tempera paint in one or more colors.
- Allow the paint to dry, then peel the rubber cement off the construction paper to see the design that is left.
- Cover both sides of the painting with clear contact paper to make it into a place mat.
