Fabric Garden

Materials

  1. Scraps of plain and floral fabric
  2. White glue or glue sticks
  3. Poster board
  4. Pictures of flowers (optional)

Directions

Cut out flower shapes from the fabric: petals, leaves, stems, and buds. An adult can do the cutting of shapes if the child is too young. If you have a group of children or family who would like to do this project together, use a roll of butcher paper instead of the poster board, and give each artist a place on the butcher paper to create their section of the group garden. Glue the shapes onto the poster board to make individual flowers, imaginary flora, a flower garden, or field of flowers. Try creating flower people or fairies, drawing a face where the center of a flower would be. Stems can resemble dancing legs, and leaves can turn into arms.
