Word Unscramble
Directions
Scramble up some common words and challenge your child to unscramble them.
- For beginning readers, use three- and four-letter words and provide a definition for each scrambled word.
For example, you might tell your child that rac is something you drive or dirb is something that flies.
For independent readers, scramble longer words and/or skip the definitions.
If you like, scramble words in categories, such as animals, musical instruments, fruits, and so on.
For two or more players, make a list of scrambled words and give a copy to each player. See who can unscramble all the words first.
