Fish Aquarium Costume
Time: 1 hour
Effort: Quick and easy no sewing required
Materials:
- Sturdy cardboard box (appropriate for the size of your child)
- Blue construction paper or cloth (several sheets)
- Black paint or marker
- White glue
- Clear or blue cello food wrap
- Fish cutouts, or plastic toy fish, seaweed, etc.
- Dark-colored clothing
Instructions: Cut the front of the box so that you have a narrow rim around the edges, just like an aquarium. Cut a hole in top for your child's head, and a hole on each side for his arms. Cut a larger hole in the bottom for his legs.
Paint the rim black. Let it dry. Glue the paper or cloth to the inside to look like water. After the lining is dry, glue the fishy stuff to the water.
Cover the sides of the box with the cello-wrap. The finished box should look like a shadow box, and should fit on your child's shoulders.
