Grow a Potato

These instructions will help you successfully grow a potato in your house, with your child's help!

Materials

  • Potatoes

Directions

  1. Cut each potato into four pieces with at least two eyes per piece.
  2. Have your child plant each piece eyes-up about four inches deep.
  3. Water the plants regularly.
  4. As the potatoes grow, mound soil around them to keep them covered.
  5. Dig up your potatoes in the fall after the stems and leaves die.
