Fisher-Price Toy Recall: Should You Be Worried?

Fisher-Price has announced a massive recall of over 50 products, including infant toys, tricycles, and high chairs. In all, 11 million toys and products have been affected--the biggest toy recall of the year.

The voluntary recall stems from reports of injuries directly related to these toys. In some cases, children suffered genital bleeding from a protruding part near the tricycle's bike seat, with some cases resulting in the child requiring stitches. Some of the high chairs have a protruding peg that a child can fall into, and wheels have fallen off some toy cars, causing a choking hazard.

Fisher-Price is offering consumers free repairs or replacements, but refunds are not currently being offered.

If any of your child's toys have been affected by this recall, stop use immediately. It is also important to check your child's toys regularly, whether or not a recall has been issued. Examine toys for loose pieces or small parts that can pose a choking hazard. If a toy is broken, throw it away.
