- Large bags for clippings
- Yard broom
- Trimmer or shears
- Garden gloves
- Lawn mower (optional)
- First practice your lawn mowing and garden care skills on your own backyard.
- Know how to use and maintain garden tools and equipment.
- Ask a parent to evaluate your work and follow any suggestions for improvement.
- Advertise your services by placing a flyer on your neighborhood front porches. You can mow lawns, weed, trim edges, rake leaves, dig holes for planting shrubs, water gardens, lawns, and planters, remove caterpillars and snails, clean and weed driveways, plant bulbs, pick fruit and berries, and turn compost heaps.
- Be sure to clean up afterward by sweeping walks and driveways and bagging clippings, weeds, leaves, and trash.
