Q
First of all let me just say I think this is a great site and I really enjoy it. I'm a nurse practitioner in a small rural clinic. I have recently joined a teen pregnancy task force in our county. We feel that in addition to the immediate task of education regarding contraception, we should tackle the enormous job of trying to increase our young people's self-esteem. We want to write and submit a short article about once a month to the local paper on self-esteem. I'm looking for info. on self-esteem. I joined an online list group and have found many interesting sites devoted to mental health and self-esteem. What I really would like is some help writing an article. I think it should be short and to the point, and it should be addressed to,not only teens, but to people of all ages. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Here are a few great books that have enough material on self-esteem and teens to help you write many fine articles:
The Parent's Guide: Systematic Training for Effective Parenting of Teens, by Dinkmeyer & McKay
Parent/Teen Breakthrough: The Relationship Approach, By Kirshenbaum & Foster
Parenting by Heart by Ron Taffel
All Grown Up and No Place to Go: Teenagers in Crisis, by David Elkind
Good luck, this is important work you are doing.
