Jumping High
This game will challenge your toddler to jump to reach objects and to stretch to full extension.
Jumping High
Time
- 10 to 15 minutes
Materials
- Soft object to grab
- Piece of string or yarn
Directions
- Suspend an object above your toddler from the string and encourage reaching. First attempts will usually be stretches on the tiptoes.
- Demonstrate how to leap with a springy motion out of bent knees and be sure to help your child succeed by lifting him, if necessary.
Extensions
- Help your toddler to stretch to full extension and talk about the feeling.
- Challenge your toddler to jump for the object like a rabbit, putting his hands up for ears.
